All Saints’ Sunday, Solemn High Mass and Solemn Evensong & Benediction, November 2
All Saints’ Day is one of the principal feasts of the church year, when we acknowledge the light that shines through the Saints! We will observe this feast on Sunday, November 2 with the usual Sunday morning Mass schedule and at Solemn Evensong & Benediction at 4 p.m.
All Souls’ Day, Solemn Requiem Mass, Monday, November 3 at 7 p.m.
On All Souls’ Day we remember all those whose lives and memories are dear to us. The Parish Choir will be joined by the Boy & Girl Choir to Maurice Duruflé’s sublime setting of the Requiem texts. Details about All Souls’ memorials for the parish Necrology were mailed out, please return names to the Parish Office by Wednesday, October 29. There will be no Evening Prayer this evening.
Book Study of Dominion by Tom Holland, Friday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Join us to discuss of British historian Tom Holland’s view that all western civilization is indebted to Christianity for its human values, and that even “atheists are swimming in Christian waters.” The book is long —over 600 pages— so save the date now and get reading!
