Upcoming at Saint Mark's

Modified Parish Office Schedule, October 14
The Parish Office will be closed Monday, October 14 in observance of Columbus Day. Low Mass will be said at 10 a.m., but there will be no other programming or liturgies.

Organ Rededication Recital by Scott Dettra, Sunday, October 20 at 4 p.m.
As the restoration of the Saint Mark’s Aeolian-Skinner Opus 948 organ draws to a close, we are happy to announce a series of rededication recitals for the 2019-2020 program year to celebrate this landmark instrument. The first recital will be given by former Saint Mark’s Organist Scott Dettra. The program will include music by Horatio Parker, Vincent Persichetti, Leo Sowerby, and Maurice Duruflé’s Prélude, Adagio, et Choral varié sur le theme du Veni Creator, Opus 4.

Solemn High Mass for All Saints’, Friday, November 1 at 7 p.m.
All Saints’ Day is one of the principal feasts of the church year, when we give thanks for the diverse company of those who planted their footsteps in the way of the Cross. A reception will follow the Mass.

Solemn Requiem Mass for All Souls’, Saturday, November 2 at 11 a.m.
On All Souls’ Day we remember all those whose lives and memories are dear to us. The liturgy at the Solemn Requiem is austere and elegant. The Parish Choir will be joined by the Choir of Boys & Girls to sing Maurice Duruflé’s sublime setting of the requiem texts. We remember by name the long list of those beloved of this parish community who are now on their pilgrimage to God’s nearer presence. Names to be remembered aloud at the Requiem Mass may be submitted, along with a memorial contribution, to the Parish Office by October 29.
